Has anyone ever had a dealership refuse to work on there car? I have a 94tt bpu+ with a bomex kit on it and I needed suspension work (bad control arm bushing) and the dealership wants me to sign a waiver before they work on it. They said they dont want to be liable if anything happens to it while on the lift.

Most dealerships will ask for that simply because they are not meant to work on modified cars. some guys at a dealerships don't even know what stuff is sometimes so it's pretty normal for that to happen. I'd suggest doing the work yourself or taking it to a aftermarket shop.

DDT (don't do that)!
The one and only time I ever took my 94 TT to a dealer, it was for an oil change, and it cost me 1700 bux (Sandy Springs Toyota in the Atlanta Area ripped me off but good) and I also had a FLAT tire from them... you've been warned! Aftermarket shop, or a independent ASE shop will be the way to go! ========================= 92 Cressida TT (1JZ-GTE) 93 Camry V6 94 Supra TT |

damn, you really did get taken around the block a few times. oh well, they lost a possible income of around $516,000. and if your wondering where that number came from, read carl sewell's book "customers for life". |

carl sewell has a theory that each customer that walks into his dealership is worth about 516k, from the sale of new/used cars and the services for those cars. this being over the course of the customer's lifetime so to speak. so, if you screw a person big time once, your actually screwing yourself out of a bigger income. |

I have a mildly tuned MK3 Turbo and I had to get the entire sterring system replaced (rack, pump, etc) and it took them 6 weeks and cost me 1800 bucks to do I was a alil annoyed because most of the time was spent waiting for parts. Apparently dealerships don't know how to order the right part and kept ordering the rack for a freaking celica

for 1 i will never take my Supra to a Toyota Dealer period! they have no clue on what is what.
2 they will screw your turbo on your spoiler and charge you an arm and a leg and say it runs like a charm. |

most of the dealers that "suck" are privatly owned where as toyota owned dealers are usually very nice.

i went to a dealership to try and get a replacement socket for my headlight on my 93.5 supra and they told me i'd have to buy the whole front end wiring harness... and i was like WTF? for one plug and connecting wires? i was like f you guys i'll go somewhere else..i called another toyota dealer and they were happy to see if you could buy the plug seperate from the entire harness it ended up costing like 35 bucks, but the connecting wires were the expensive part the plug was only like $5..so don't ever use Caldwell toyota in conway, arkansas.. they suck! If you need parts call landers toyota in Little Rock on University ave
