Honestly, I know NOTHING about MKIVs. But I know they look DAMN good, and I'm planning to restore one. Pretty much what I'm asking for is any helpful advice towards this project. Tools I might need, what parts don't fit with other parts (confusing, I know, but how else could I put it?), part recommendations, etc. Anything that'll help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

I know this does not answer your questions in any way, but be prepared to put in ALOT of time, MONEY, and headache. I hope that you didnt get the idea from a certain movie, just remeber... ITS A MOVIE...
just my 2 cents, didnt mean to insult you in any way.

Wow... I hated TFATF... I didn't derive this idea from there. Don't worry... I actually thought of it when my friend came over with a restored Mustang Mach 1. He knows everything about that car, and that's what inspired me to do the same. I'm estimating at least a couple years on this project, but I'm willing to bet anything that it'll be worth it. The money isn't that much of a problem, considering it'll be coming out of my videogame funding (gotta spend my green on something...). The headache (and other injuries) are already a given... But I love this car...

Yeah... If you really want, I'll post the amount I pay for EVERYTHING. That way, your supra fund-o-meter can actually get somewhere...

Well there is a lot of things to look for. A lot of people think oh i can just buy a supra that was salvaged, theft recovery etc... and rebuilt/restore it buts it not as easy as you think. The 1 and the most important thing is that if the frame has the slightest damage i recommend not getting it. The reason why i say that is because once a uni-body like the supra gets damaged it will never run the same. But if you find one that doesnt have any frame damage then post in the Elmhurst Toyota -Toyota Parts - Illinois forum and tell curt what you need and he'll give you the part # and the price for the item (great guy to work with and great prices too. Hope this helps and the best of luck to you and your project.

I actually liked both movies.. nothing wrong with that
Restore a Supra? Why? You mean you want to buy a POS Mkiv beater and make like new again? That makes no sense, unless you find pouring money into something stupid is fun. Just buy a damn MKiv that runs, lol.
You restore old cars, not cars that were made in 1993 and up.
