Hi, I have a 93 n/a I want to drop a 2jz-gte in it this summer. All I keep finding are JDM swaps with auto tranns, thats fine because I wanna stay with an auto for now untill I save up some money. My problem is that there are problems with the jdm swaps like , harness, sensors, egr and i think downpipe and fuel problems ( so I've heard). I cant find a USDM engine which is way easier to swap ( so I 've heard ). DID ANYONE HERE DO A JDM SWAP IN A MKIV or know where I can find a USDM ones.. Can I get some pointers guys,, I need some help I dont know what to do now....

Hi bro, damn, we are in the same situationSmile. My jdm package (engine, auto tranny, ecu ....) is being in shipment to me from Canada. Well, I've heard and absorbed as you do. Let's get all the help around and hook each up other. Let's wait and see the resolution. By the way, I wouldn't be concerned about the fuel system for the beginner as the stock, even jdm's, system can support perhaps beyond bpu. Downpipe is a tiny problem, so don't be a heartach because of it. No, jdm totally doesn't have the emission system, this is a big problem, then we need probably to create the emission for it by studying the emission control diagram or any ways to modify one. JDM wiring harness will be too short, not talking about harness codes ... yet, for us here because jdm's right-hand drive therefore the ecu is located on us driver side here, then certainly the harnesses are located on the intake-side area, this requires wires to be extended through being soldering (my idea). Sensors as well a headach, such as non-emission eliminates some sensors. My package will be here sometime early next week, but I'llllll have to wait till ... maybe forever lol to celebrate the first TT experience, especially mkivSmile. Sad to go still NA for at least months to come. Helppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

hmm. Did you shop around for a USDM package or just went JDM?
How much are you getting yours for?
From what I am hearing now JDM swap looks like a total pain in the ass. And I dont have the knowlage to deal with it all. But I cant find a USDM swap so I am being forced in to a JDM .I dont get the whole egr thing and I called someguy from PHR and he told me that you need to mess around with a lot of stuff like fuel, electrical ,sensors, egr, harness, downpiep, and even some mechanical aspects. To me that is too much stuff to do . I would even double the JDM price so I can get a USDM one a get some sleep at the end of the day. It dosent look like I will be able to find one so I will be doing what I can to get by. If I automaticly strip the TT and go single would that help in some way?

P.S Can you give me some links to places selling engines you where looking at.
