Is reving your supra harmful in any way. I mean I think everyone has given a good rev here and there but on a stock engine is ok to rev high. I mean like if you were racing and stuff like that, is it safe to do on a stock engine. The reason I am asking is because my friends want me to go to the track but I don't know if my supra can take it. It has around 130K miles but has never been driven hard. Just don't want to blow anything up so I figured I would ask first. Thanks

if you have some good oil in it it should do it fine. A completely stock 2j can be reved to 7500 with out problems however I dont recommend you do that with your 130k mile engine. The beauty of square and oversquare engines is their rev ability. Dont take it into the red and you should be fine.

Is there anything I could buy if I later became more interested in racing and was harder on the engine. Thanks

a rebuild and maybe some head work are the best ways to get the engine to rev reliably.
