you know i go to all these forums and share and recieve much needed info, but i have never in my life ran into as many criticizing people as i do in almost all the supra forums. are you a supra owner 67bird? cause if you acually were than you would support other supra owners. and if you dont own one than why the hell are you in supra forums? plus if it wasnt going to be a good investment than i wouldnt do it, cause its not like i dont have the 2j sitting right next to the car...

no one has really tested it out yet, but it has been said that its possible that the 1jz could run with the 2jz, and make almost as much power. they are really similar and the 1jz makes almost as much power as the jap spec 2jz..... suck it bird Smile i support my fellow supra owners (especially the 95 se's)

Yeah, I think its a great idea. I'd personally just blow the 2JZ if I already had it, but contrary to ANYTHING either 67Bird or LadyDeath say, I wouldnt laugh it it. He probably thinks "theres no replacement for displacement" which again, is stupid to be around here for. With exactly half the bore and stroke of a 80's Mustang I can have a better, faster car (1JZ) and still have whatever money I'd lose to the Fjord falling apart to safely mod the bottom end past the Mustang. Even IF you have a 67 muscle car, you dont own the road, MAYBE the track but whats the point of having a muscle car own the track when you could build your own dragster to make it faster?

racing is not about how fast you can go, it is how fast you can get from one point to another! and no i dont think that there is no replacement for displacment, a bigger motor is better for domestics, but in imports case, it is not. and just for the info, i plan on putting a turbo on my 400 in the future Big Grin so dont try to classify me. i respect what needs respect. but if you have a 2jz already in a car, y would you want to but a 1jz in it? more parts for the 2jz and cheaper! thats y alot of people these days are putting chevy 350's into a wankel! parts are cheaper for it. and i must say to the person that said that they could mod there 1jz cheaper than a 80's mustang? Confused you are very mistaken. the fox body mustang is the mustang used most by drag racers than any other car around! that is because of the ford 5.0 and the fox body. those two together are a deadly combination. cheap to make power and mod the suspension. but the same for the 2jz, around $2000 gets you about 400 hp at the wheels and 11's in the quarter. i wont go on anymore for now. i wait to c what yall have to say these remarks

ok i am putting that motor in because no body else has that combo to my knowledge... everyone has the same motor with the same turbo kits anymore. and i dont want to be a part of it. been there done that and now i want to try something differant. and not to offend anyone and to mostly agree with 67bird... most drag racers do have and race mustangs for 2 basic reasons, and those are as follows; the majority of drag racers are still, or have once been a 'hillbilly' and all 'hillbillys' love fords and i dont know why.lol reason 2, they are probably the cheapest car to build( bang for the buck) and if you arent city-folk than you probably dont have a lot of cash to start with.
