I have located a 200,000 mile TT supra in good condition close by for $9,000. I also found a supra engine and transmission with 38,00 miles on it for about $2500 shipped.I was wondering if this is a good idea to get? Or get a supra for around $18k with maybe 120k miles on it. Does anyone know how much labor would be to swap the engines and trans? I would probably switch the TT for a single and upgrade other various parts.

9Gs holy hell my supie must only be worth 11G...dammit. labor will probably be an easy 2000. something you have to consider is that just because the engine and tranny are low milage the interior, exterior, susp, brakes, plastics, electronics, etc are all old. i know i bought my car with the intension of keeping it for a long long time so the idea of putting a lot into it didnt really bother me because it is an on going project.

Something sounds fishy to me. We are in fact talking about a Twin Turbo correct? I just dont see someone selling a well maintained supra TT for 9k even if it had a million miles on it. I mean damn they would be better off doing the swap to a newer motor themselves, documenting the work, then turning around and selling it for 20 something.

Any year associated to this supra?

Yeah I just realised it's not a TT.Mad Would a engine swap on a na require a-lot of work? I know you'd need the engine, tranny, and rear end for sure. And the suspension and brakes plus more is also different. Anything else??? I know these questions have been asked before and i'm researching at the moment but if you guys could help it'd be awesome.

well shit I think I'll do that instead of paying 17k for a 120k mile TT. I will buy a 8-9k na spend 8k on the swap and it will only have 40,000 miles. This is what I have found for parts.

Does anyone know what labor would be for this swap by itself? I will probably take it to http://www.boostlogic.com since I'm here in austin. The engine I want comes with everything I need including harnesses and ecu so I don't think I will have a problem. I couldn't find that I need any more parts besides a rear end and all engine components. Is this correct? You guys have been great help!!! Thanks for helping me on my way to a supra! I drive a gas gusling Ford F-150 lightning now. Trying to get the speed, gas mileage, and beauty of the supra.

i think my friend payed 4500 for the parts and ~3500 for labor, it took them like 2 months to do the swap but he took it to an inexperienced shop.

5000 can easily buy you a nice turbo kit and a meth kit so you can run over 500hp w/o a full fuel system.

I dont know about buying that engine off ebay. Be careful. I personally have never done it but I'd be suspicious. Also can he just swap the LSD out of his NA or does he need to buy a whole differential (casing and all)? Also I think you need to get axles as well as the NA ones arent going to cut it. Also I hope that car your buying is a automatic if your going to put an automatic in it. I dont know if there is any issues from going to auto TT from 5spd since I havent done it but just throwing that out there to. Do alot of research. Anyhow Im sure others here can give you a run down on everything and use the search button, there is a whole list of parts and their #'s in here somewhere for the TT swap. Good Luck.

PS: I might do the same to my auto NA. Then I'll have a 6spd TT and auto TT. Smile
