Well, the BPU kits sound very appealing in that it may allow a Supra to beat most any street car for a reasonable purchase price. But, how much does it cost to have the BPU kit installed properly? Or, how many years do these kits take away from the life of the Supra? There has to be a catch to all this, right?

The Downsides:
-Greatly shortens life of stock clutch -Turbo's will not last as long, still should last a good while though, if well maintained However, the Supra really is built strong enough to take a lot more power than BPU level, so it really wont make THAT much of a difference. And the BPU mods are pretty basic bolt-ons, any do-it-yourselfer should be able to do it if they take their time. Mike T 94 Supra TT 6spd "Silly ricer, synchros are for kids" |
