A few times , when racing, I've blown shifts into second and third. Both with a nice grinding sound. I know it's bad, but how bad? Am I chewing up the gears more and more each time this happens (it's only happened like two ot three times)?

This is the single most dangerous area for the Getrag and that is missed shifts by power-shifting. Miss it just the right way (wrong way) and you bend the fork or screw a synchro. Because of that I only power-shift when racing other 1000HP Supra's or a 900HP 427TT Z06 smile

One thing to try is a good short shifter. When I first got my Supra I had a hell of a time hitting the 1st-2nd power-shift. It was really quite odd how bad it was. I replaced the shifter with the Bryce Danna shifter, and all problems went away, COMPLETELY! Maybe the stock one was defective or damaged?

Also, check that your clutch is adjusted properly. If it's not fully releasing, that could be the problem.

Oh, and against popular assumption, it is not the gear teeth that are grinding, they are always meshed. It's the dog teeth that engage the gears to the shaft that grind.

When you say power shifting, you mean not taking your foot off the gas right? Well I've never powershifted the car, but shifted as quick as possible while pushing in the clutch. Could I have damaged anything by doing this the few times that I have?

I would doubt it. It's probably fine.
