I just bought a black aero top MkIV that was listed as a 96. However, I am a bit confused about what's going on with the car. I heard that all 96s were Anniversary Editions- is this true? I am also under the impression that all Anneversary Editions have wood trim interior.
Now comes my confusion- the fenders had no AE badges, and the wood trim is ONLY around the gauge cluster- not around the shifter and door switches, which are simply black. What's the deal with this? What am I mistaken about concerning he 96s, and has someone been messing with the interior of this car? Please help. |

97 was the year of the 15th anniversary edition, comes with fender badges (and something inside, I forget what and I'm traveling so I can't go down to the garage and look - I've had a 97 since new). If there was anything special about 96 I don't know about it.

the 'wood' trim is an aftermarket overlay piece. they also come in carbon fiber and brushed aluminum.
