I just bought a black aero top MkIV that was listed as a 96. However, I am a bit confused about what's going on with the car. I heard that all 96s were Anniversary Editions- is this true? I am also under the impression that all Anneversary Editions have wood trim interior.

Now comes my confusion- the fenders had no AE badges, and the wood trim is ONLY around the gauge cluster- not around the shifter and door switches, which are simply black. What's the deal with this? What am I mistaken about concerning he 96s, and has someone been messing with the interior of this car? Please help.

97 was the year of the 15th anniversary edition, comes with fender badges (and something inside, I forget what and I'm traveling so I can't go down to the garage and look - I've had a 97 since new). If there was anything special about 96 I don't know about it.

the 'wood' trim is an aftermarket overlay piece. they also come in carbon fiber and brushed aluminum.
