if you like driving a manual why didnt u get a manual supra? 6 speed swap is going to take a good minute n a good amount of $$$$.
i agree with supras own you. built tranny + budget turbo kit would be lovely. the 6 speed tranny is going to cost u a bank already |

Dont ask us, it is your decision. I personally dont like an automatic with a single turbo. I advise you to only concider the 6-speed swap if you have 10-15 grand to spend on it. If you arnt going to do it right, dont do it at all.

If you have the money you should convert it to a manual, means more manuals out there for the rest of us

Sticks are fun but a freind of mine had a 94 TT with a auto but he put a stall and a shift kit in it and stuff he never did get around to the T 66 or anything else but it was fast as hell for an auto

I just thought I should throw this out there for you in case you havent seen it.
auto to 6spd Its a walk through and probably the most well explained (with pictures) auto to 6spd article I've ever read. Also I really dont think it will cost you 10-15 grand. basically the list of things includes pedal assembly and such, 6spd tranny, differential and rear axles. I dont know where you live but there is a kid here in jersey, he is kinda hard to deal with sometimes though, but he has a USDM supra that was rolled but it still runs and all the components are still working with around 50k miles on everything. At least as far as I know. If you want I can give you his AIM screen name or if your interested let me know and I'll hook you two up. But 15 grand you could buy everything you need and a new engine. I think he would sell you everything you need for probably 6k, thats just a guess though, I'd have to ask him but he was going to sell me all the stuff you would need plus the engine and even more for 10k. Or just do what the guy who wrote the article did and buy all new stuff from elmhurst toyota at 30% discount. Good Luck with the decision. This message has been edited. Last edited by: JayG30, |
