My boost is at 20psi 0-110 and 23 110-140. I know this can't be good for the car at all and I feel the car slow in acceleration after it gets to high. I have bcc,TTC,full exhaust, an intake. I'm getting a boost controller as soon as I can. I know I should only run 18 and lower with the mods I have and I don't know why its boostin so high. The guy before me said it was 460HP? At the crank right? He also said it ran 11.85 1/4 mile?
Thanks, Logan |

you arent going to have that power or 1/4 time with those mods. you dont have anything done to the car that would raise the boost? like say vsv mod, clamp mod, bleeder mod, spring or shimmed wastegate? a downpipe will usually give you 1-2psi but to me it sounds like you have something done that will give you a little extra boost.
there are a few reasons why the car is slow at that boost. first off it sounds like you are running on pump gas which will cause major timing retard because your knock sensors are going crazy from all the detonation in the cyl and combustion chamber. the second reason is that after about 21-22 psi the stock TTs lose a lot of efficieny and heat the air more than they compress it. |

Ok I found what was up! In this picture the hose is plugged on mine.
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/clamp_mod/_clamp.jpg What should I do to revert to stock or let me clamp a little and not fully? I don't see a hose at all. Thanks, Logan |

Nvm I found where it's supposed to connect to the other inlet and it's plugged also. I'm going to go get some lines and run it back.
THANKS FOR THE HELP!!! |

hoses should go like this: turbo compressor outlet to upper actuator nipple. then lower actuator nipple to right nipple on vsv. then left nipple on vsv to hard vac line up near ic pipe. if you want to be able to control your boost once you get all the lines hooked up then add a small hose clamp to the compressor/actuator hose as shown in the link you posted. i used this method of boost control for a few months before going to a mbc. the only reason i went over to an mbc is that it was a little easier to control boost (didnt need a screw driver to change boost).

Thanks I just got it at stock and should have my EBC in about a week. I took it to about 130 at 14psi last night and from 100-130 it was about the same acceleration as it was at 20-23psi. The only difference is my a/c didn't get hot. I apreciate the help because I think I would have blown something running it like it was. Just think what it would be at in the winter
Thanks, Logan |
