Royal Purple from what i hear is pretty good. Most Supra Owners use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w-30 (Maybe cause its easily avaliable). There is nothing wrong in using 5W-30 either. Smile

if your car is modded and you live in a warm area its a good idea to use a heavier oil however toyota says 10-30 for most climates which is best for stock. 5-30 is a little thin unless you are in a very cold climate. the choice of using synthetic is up to you, but in a turbo car i highly recommend synthetic. Mobile 1 is available everywhere and carrys a higher API rating than Royal Purple (most people dont know that).

I've read that an ACEA rating of A3 is as good as it gets. A3 > A1, A5.

i use either royal purple or amsoil.. just depends on whats avail at the shop when its time to flush the motor out...

i use a "cleaner/conditioner" when i change the oil. it removes the oil by braking it down a little... it makes the oil thinner and helps it scrub the walls down. just put it in the car and let it idle for 4 or 5 min. drain, fill, run for 2 min, drain, change the filter, and put in your oil. when i fill the first time i just use some crappy oil since its really just going in to flush the rest of the old oil out. i put royal purple in about 1 month ago... its still purple. (how ever ive only gone about 300 miles)

but honestly. just be sure to keep up the oil changes... dirty oil causes lots of problems. 10w30 is whats rec. thats what i use.
