I just redynoed my car today. Car is an auto. Power mods are exhaust, dp with high flow cat, fmic, intake, safc, cam gears and boost controller. We made 13passes on the dyno so the car was heat soaked pretty bad. Had some dinky little fan on the fmic and boost was at 1.3bar. I also had some 100octane in. Baseline run i made 390rwhp and 388rwtq sae corrected. After multiple runs peak power dropped to 370rwhp and 360+ rwtq (forgot exact amount.) On the last run i made 390.2rwhp and 380.7 rwtq corrected. Same peak hp as before but this was done with major heat soak. Tuning the a/f up top really helped. Before tuning by redline i was making 318rwhp and 239.5rwtq but now im making 368rwhp and 277rwtq. For some reason adding fuel from 4k-6.4k did not lower my a/f ratio. The tech tried to tune to 11.5:1 but the car wouldnt add more fuel. He said adding 15percent to 20percent showed the same a/f ratio. Does anyone know why this is? I gained the most rwhp with the cam gear settings at -1 exhaust and +2 intake. Well enough talking heres the dyno sheet. The blue curves are the 13th run while the red curves were the 3rd run. The a/f curve by redline shows 12.0 but we added more fuel to get it closer to 11.5:1.

Your dyno like doesnt work. Also you said you had 277rwtq, i hope you meant 377?

Your cam gear settings don't look right. How was the testing done? It is incredibly important to let the car cool down a specific amount of time, and stabalized temperatures between runs, or your testing will be worthless. The stock ecu is quite active in the tune up, regardless of what piggy back equipment you have.

sorry about the bad link. that should work. sorry if i wasnt clear. Max torque was 380.7rwtq and by redline it was dropping to 277.4rwtq. Before i tuned the a/f i was only making 239.5rwtq at redline. In between runs we let the car cool down for about 10-15min. How the tech tuned the gears was he would adjust it back a degree on the exhaust gear first and then would anaylze the curve from what he told me. He said that since its an auto and the pull doesnt start till 4.2k that he doesnt know how the cam gears are affecting the low end and that after adjusting the exhaust cam gears past -1 degrees power figures just started to drop off. He used the same method for the intake side. |

We set my cam gears on the dyno with my automatic, and found best power everywhere with -4 exh, +1 intake. 18 horsepower total.

Yea when we were retarding exhaust timing past -1 peak hp started to drop off. Also is there any way to just keep the car in 3rd gear in teh low rpm range so that you can see how the curve looks down low or am i stuck seeing power from 4200rpm and up.
