i was thinking about going single in a couple of months but im not sure which i wanna get...i have looked at horsepower freaks, phr, BL , , rps ,and SP but i cannot deside on the one that would be the best...i have a 1997 auto tt...becuase the fact that its an auto i need a quicker spooling turbo...my goal is low to mid 500's on 94 pump and around 620-650 on race gas...my other goal is to get atleast mid 10's on the track...is that possible with my goals?...any way i like the fact that some phr turbos spool very very quick and can acheive 600rwhp but they only have 3 inch downpipes...then for example horsepower freaks turbos have a 4 inch down pipe...which i know reduces back pressure and inproves air flow...but then isnt back pressure what gives you bottom end power? so why would that be a good thing? some one please give me their thoughts...thanks ...also for this setup what kind of electronics work the best? aem ems or map ecu? wut is a map ecu?

well if thats your goal you are going to need to beef up your tranny and then PHR is always a sure shot i have never heard one dissipointed customer um but then again we arent really the ones to talk to about what to get we can help but best way would to call up PHR or BL or HPF and SP and ask about what you want and how much you are willing to spend and than and they will be more than happy to help where are you located if your in the south swing by AAP motorsports they are exelent on fabrication and isntalation look for their supra it runs a 8.33 quarter so they are really good and the best customer service i have ever seen in my life

im not a big expert on this suff i dont know a whole lot um supras own you should be in here in a lil and reply with the heavy duty suff but i think 4in dp's dont lower bottem end power but you shouldnt really need one unless you run a big turbo but thats my guess i dont know a whole lot im just trying to put in my 2 cents and learn from them i dont know much about map ecus but mostly people use aem ems but that is expensive with tuning

61-67mm is the range you are looking for (i can post some dyno charts to give you an idea of the tq curve). a 4" dp will slightly lower low end tq but not enough to really matter because of an increse in spool time. the map ecu is a great tuning tool. speed density conversion and pretty easy to use. a standalone is way more than you need and a big headache for a street car. hks fcon is another option.

while i've been searching for my turbo kit, a little more horsepower in mind, all i've heard is that PHR is the way to go and they use the best parts and have the best service compared to everyone else.....

yeah hpf is really good i meen they are huge and that but if your on a budget check them out or a smaller sp turbo kit PHR is a bit pricy but its worth every penny

hpf, wotm, bl, sp, phr are all good kits. none of them are out to screw you. hpf kits are fairly new to the market so they havnt really be tested like th sp and bls but so far i havnt heard of mechanical problems with the kits.

thanks for the fast replys guys...just one more thing...sence the fact that im an auto i would need a built auto...i love the fact that sp has a warrenty but i dont have money to burn on a 3400 dallor tranny...bls is 2700 including a torque converter but no warrenty and i dont wanna get f'ed becuase i am still in high school and i need something to work good and hold the power when i go out to englishtown. any opinions on that?

actually i think bl does offer a warrenty but you have to ask about it. also remember you dont have to buy an aftermarket stall. take your stock stall to a tranny shop and tell them to rebuild it and restall it to 3200 and youll save yourself $300+, plus stock converters are much more reliable than aftermarkets.

but with doing that...would that be able to handle 600-700 rwhp? and would it be a good idea to get a 4000 stall instead of a 3200?

hey supras_own_u im not sure if you remember or care lol but im the same kid that was having with a problem with my car at bpu how it only dynoed at 330rwhp...ive gotten the car checked everywhere and they said thats normal for the parts that i have and becuase its got 106xxx miles and its an auto...that dyno was at 16 pounds and then the shop said it was way to lean at upper rpm and that i need a fuel pump and some race gas and then they will turn it up to 19 pounds...they also suggested getting a 3800 stall for now and wait for a built tranny in a while...does all this sound good to you or do you think it still sounds like way to low of a number to be putting out? get back to me as soon as you can man thanks!

if you were running lean the i believe it but the tranny and stall wont give you more power. the fuel pump will only give you more power if your old one is clogged up or worn out. try getting an afc or some kind of fuel controler, cleaning the fuel system up, and doing the 12v mod. if you dont see a richer condition then they were blowing smoke up your ass.
