Hey i forgot which one of ya'll told me to get rid of my tems and switch to blisteins and the h&r springs but i was lookin just about any shock is cheaper then the tokico illumina II's. Is there anything special I have to do to get rid of the TEMS to switch to a regular shock and spring thing?

I think all you have to do is take off the actuators.

Second that. Just remove the actuators from the shock towers. I would suggest new tower caps while you're at it, otherwise you're just wasting your time.

To answer your question, tower caps or spring seats, whatever you want to call them are essentially cushioning spacers that sit atop your springs. The side opposite where the spring rests has the three bolts that go through the body to actually mount the seat (and spring) to the car. Finally, the rod end of the shock comes up through the middle of the tower cap. JordanC |
