1988 Toyota Supra Turbo
159,xxx miles 7MGTE Straight Six 3.0 Liter Turbo w/5 Speed Manual CT26 Turbo, Factory Intercooler and Oil Cooler Gravity Series Competition Clutch BfGoodrich G-Force Sport Tires Metallic Silver Targa Top Car is in Memphis, TN 38111 First the bad: The engine knocks in the 3rd and 4th cylinder, likely due to spun bearings, and will need a rebuild. The first moment it started knocking I was turning onto my street, parked the car and it has only been started once or twice since then to diagnose the problem and has not been driven at all. The car will start (with a new battery) and will probably move, but it needs engine work to run right again. Center armrest is in rough shape and the rear bumper has lost some paint. Powersteering is not functional due to a leak in the rack, but a new rack is under $200. Side trim on driver's side is off but I have the piece. Otherwise just normal wear for a 20 year old sports car (small dings, stains, etc.). The good: Six weeks before the knock started I had a Competition Gravity Series Clutch and a set of BFGoodrich G-Force Sports put on, both are of course still in great shape. K&N air filter. Otherwise engine is unmodified 7MGTE. Stock turbo is in good condition, no shaft play and factory boost gauge shows it spooling to correct PSI. No major dents, no signs of any former wrecks or damage, frame is straight. Targa top seals completely and pops on and off in seconds, clips into mounting points in the hatch for storage. At the time it was made the 7MGTE MKIII Supra was the fastest Japanese car ever, and (before the knock) this car drove great, tracks straight, and was alot of fun on the highway with the top off and the music up. A rebuild isn't too expensive, also rebuilt USDM and low-mileage JDM motors are available. Plenty fast stock with potential for 700 hp fully built, this is a great project car that I just don't really need, any extra money I get just goes into my Civic Si daily driver. Very Motivated to Sell. Asking 2000 or best offer, clutch and tires are almost new and worth over $500. Car is in University of Memphis area and available to be seen if you're seriously interested, just call 901-605-1318 for Adam This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dorachagi, |
