Welcome To I-Supra! Sounds like you got some work ahead you! Dont worry all the help you need will be found here. I think $3000 is really steep for the problem you have. I would get with Schaeff on this one, he's the expert on the MkIII. Hey if you cant get nice set of leather seats in a junkyard (thats hard one in itself) you can always re-upholster them. By the way what color is your Supra and whats the Interior color? Do you plan on going Turbo with her? My First Supra was N/A and Auto, but I still loved her. Also how many miles does she have, Supras are also known to have bad head gaskets after 100,000 miles on them. That would be the first thing I would check since that is the most damaging to the engine.

thanks! its white with the black trim on the side. miles are at around 170k, ya i plan on checking and replacing all the gaskets. as for the int. re-upholstering them sounds more like a actual event then getting them from the jyard. the int. is a blue, but i might be getting the seats in a purple color and they are cloth. i say i might because the car will be here this sat. And the problem so far with the car is the coil pack and it should be replaced when the car gets to me, but im still gonna get the gaskets replaced.

i do plan on turbo'ing her later on, but ive gotta get out of basic training b4 my money starts rollin in. that and i have to get my mom to not sway me into selling the car, bcuz according to her i wont need one. but she doesnt know what its like being able to have a supra! Smile

So your going to basic huh? What branch? Is it Active duty, reserve or guard? Your mom doesnt know what shes talking about.. You will need that car when you get to your first duty station. I needed one when I got to mine, and well I had a bonus and I ended up buying my first supra in Tacoma, WA. So your going to do a purple Int. on her, well I'm against it, lol. But hey maybe it will look good, what do I know. So you have a problem with coil pack eh? Well I didnt know the 7M-GE had one. I thought only turbo supras came with those. Well yours is a '90. But I have never seen one before. Both my Supras were/are from the late 80's. Yeah I still say get with Shaeff on your car for all your technical problems. I mostly can troubleshoot a bad head gasket and some really minor and small problems, since I have had some exp with these things. By the way what is WH and where is it in Florida? Yeah your right, your mom doesnt know what its like to have a supra! If you get a big enough bonus I would take some of that cash to get the big things fixed in your car. Yeah a bad head gasket can cost up to $1500 to replace. If you do fine you have a BHG, I would do the metal head gasket replacement, it will last a hell of lot longer than an OEM replacement. Thats what I just recommend though. Well after shes all fixed and running straight, keep her natural aspirated for awhile so you can decide on how you want to turbo her, you have many options available to you since shes a '90! Good luck and have fun in basic bro!

i dont want the purple int. but the seats are gonna be purple, bcuz the guy is gonna exchange my messed up leather ones for the purple seats that are in good condition. and as for the coil pack i dont know yet...WH means winter haven florida, and its in the middle of polk county which happens to be in the middle of florida and where all three hurricanes crossed awhile back. and i dont think im getting a bonus but im either gonna get another supra if this doesnt work out, cuz im still having problems finding someone with a truck with a trailer hitch that can tow a trailer behind it with my car on it....ya it sucks...and i will deff. ask shaeff about it.
