If I were you, I would sell that car and get a TT. I wouldn't waste my money adding upgrades to an N/A Supra when I could just buy a twin turbo instead.

But all that money you put into upgrading your non-turbo, you could save and put towards a twin-turbo. I wouldn't rush it, but that's just me.

HI Supraman00,

I agree somewhat with TKR Racer, but those Supra TT/6spd are a pretty penny.

have you check how much is a JDM 2JZ engine only?

Over here in Canada, they are averaging 2G's.

Maby buy the engine, ecu and harness. Than depends if you are going to install it or sending it out to a shop(which mean more money).

What tranny are you running now? 5 spd or automatic?

good luck on the project

See you next stage!

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - disappointing, sold it
1987 Toyota Celica GTS - small, sold it, still running
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo (Targa) - Awsome car, sold for MKIV
1995 Toyota Avalon XLS - Awsome car, Still ALIVE
1994 Toyota Supra TT - under contruction/rebuild

Why not wait on the power and invest in the body/interior, suspension? You can make a damn nice car without making it faster. Just make a "Performance" jar and throw $20 bucks in it every week...

Everyone wants more power. I love my 7mgte, dont listen to those guys about selling your 7m. Everyone would want a 2jz, but of course we cant all afford them. The 7m is a great car, nearly a classic. Scour the junkyards for cheap parts. I f you find a turbo 7m in there, you can rape it for its parts. You can get plenty of good power w/o a turbo. But i would say buying a JDM turbo motor is the cheapest way to get a turbo. Keep the old motor and you can build it strong while you drive the turbo motor. TKR is right though you can spend alot of money upgrading a 7m, I know I have, but still not enough to buy a 2jz.

you can get kits for the non turbo for like 5 k that will bring it up to 500 plus horsepower.. thats all you would need if you don't plan on drag racing professionally, my uncle had a non turbo, baught it for 14 k put about 24 into it, turbo kit, custom stereo, tv's, body kit, rims, i mean everything!! thing was pushing 800 plus horse power.. from non turbo to turbo.. anyway yeah.. paid 14 k put 24 k into it, sold it for 80 k.. profit baby!!

You can always buy a 240sx (S13 or S14) and drop the 2JZ in it.Obviously you can make them just as fast as supras for just about half the price.

sorry to rag on you TKR Racer but your like the kids who look at my 02 wrx and say is that a sti. point bieng the tt is not the only choice since most poeple with the tt are running single turbos also, some turbo supra's started out as N/A its way to expensive to buy a turbo supra now and even harder to find one not modified. the only answer is not tt there are many roads to power, the choice is up to the one spending the money.

89 SUPRA N/A

:i need my hp like a new born needs his mother, all the time:

hmm.. I have to agree with MadSupra, he makes a good point, the MKIV went up in price ever since the "Fake and the Ficticious" came out. Also the tuner "bug" has nearly hit every teen with a driver license, so getting your hands on a clean Supra is pretty hard, Hell my old supra and my new supra are modded. If he has the 89 and up model then yeah you can drop the 2JZ in it. But like a previous post I stated it depends on how big your imagination and pockets are! The choice is all up to the owner, there are smart ways to make power. But to be honest, myself personally, I'm not looking to make some crazy number like 800Hp or even 500hp! I would never be able to fully utilize such power on the streets. I guess you must consider what is realistic and how you plan to use your Supra. Mk IV owners are more power hungry because the car is naturally quick off the show room floor. The power potential is unreal and hell getting to 400Hp is relatively cheap, so thats why you find power monster Mk IV Supras. Myself I'm partial to the 7M, and yeah turbo is much easier to make power but N/A is not bad either. Hey whichever way you want to go its up to you.
