Just my luck....

The wife and I took a little trip to Radford, VA this past weekend for her sister's college grad. Yea!!! Finally after five years!!! The visit went well, it was the return trip that sucked...

As we traveled home, I had the cruise control set to 72 mph and, according to the Nav Unit, we were making good time to get back home around 3 pm. Well, as I merged onto I-295 and reset the cruise control---BOOM!!!!

A loud explosion came from the engine compartment and black-greyish smoke started to trail the vehicle. I turned the vehicle off and coasted to the shoulder. Under neathe the vehicle I could see oil just pour out....

Oh, yeah I wasn't driving my Toyota Supra. I was driving the Wifes 2005 Toyota Rav4!!!! Lucky for us there was a towing company three miles away that took us to a local Toyota Dealership in Mechanicville, VA.

Since the Rav4 only had 63000 miles, it was still under the extended warranty (thank God!!!). While we were waiting for the rental car, we joked about buying a new Rav4 with the saleman.

Well, to make a long story short.... We now own a 2008 Rav4 very, very, very well equiped with a payment less than the 2005 model (no money out of pocket).Oh yeah, and the 100,000 mile warranty, too.

Monday, the dealership called back to let us know that the engine had thrown 2 rods, blowing a huge hole in the back of the block!!!!Ironically, for those of yous that don't me, thats what killed my JDM motor in my 1990 supra...
