Ok so i have a 1990 supra n/a and i was just wondering what should i get to get started out with this car? if you know of any websites of where to get good parts, and ill be honest im not rollin in the dough here so the cheaper the better....i know i know if im not makin the bucks why get a car that requires a good amount of it, but hey.....lol so ne help would be great! thanks in advance

ok so i have about $500 to spend.....im gonna try to get the head gaskets that are the metal kind bcuz less hasle later on. but dont include that in the spending money i have.

Get yourself a set of arp head bolts with the head gasket cuz yours will blow, no if ands or buts. I use www.horsepowerfreaks.com , they are another trustworthy site.
Replaceing all those 20 year old seals is a great start too.
Also check your diagnostic codes to see what your engine thinks http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTips/engine_error_codes.aspx

Forget performance upgrades right now, go straight for maintenance. Go over the car with a fine tooth comb, and don't overlook anything. If there's the slightest problem, fix it.

If you're planning to go with a MHG, you really need to check into what kind of machine work is required for it. You need to have the block decked, and the head lapped. If you get the block decked, you MUST have the front timing cover done while bolted to the block!

thanks everyone! i am deff gonna try to look over everything but its gonna be hard bcuz i am in the learning stages and i dont have anywhere to really work on it for long periods of time bcuz of a dousche step father. but im sure i can replace the head gasket right away with some few other seals. thanks for the links they are helpful too!
