OK i got my supra to my house. The car still starts and the beating is coming from the back of the engine. I do not know how to build an engine or do any of that shit. I am buying a 94 eclipse to get back and forth from work. I love my supra. Does anyone know where i can buy a decently built engine for less than 3000. Does not have to be big HP just a decent engine. I found a nice one on ebay but i can't find it anymore it was 2500 red valve covers cams cam gears pistons rods all aftermarket and you could supposably tell them how you wanted it and they could built it for you for a price. Does anyone know were i can buy something nice just to drop into my car?

No i'm sayin its not there anymore. All i see now is the regular JDM engines for 1000 to 1800. Problem is i talked to the mechanic and asked him how much he'd charge to put the engine in he said 2000. Is that alot?

sorry i missread your post. im not sure of anyone who would give you that price with aftermarket parts. but on suprastore.com i seen the block and head packages that totaled $3,090 but thats not includeing a metal head gasket plus you would have to throw in the cost of labor. would you consider a jdm motor? if so i know jarco.inc is a good place to buy from.

Thats what shaeff told me I found this jarco thing online but i didn't see any 7mgte's I want a JDM that exactly what i want. I found alot of those for around 1 to 2 thousand. But do you think 2000 for labor to put it in sounds right?

Absolutly not. Thats rediculous. Its a 10 hour job if you dont already have the replacement motor out. I wouldn't pay more than 700 for just a simple swap.

Ok what all do i need if i buy a JDM motor to do it myself. Just basic tools? pull one out and put the other in and reatach every thing?

well i dont know how mechanicaly inclined you are but while you have it out i would deffently change the head gasket. and youll probably have to change the spark plugs and mabey some vacuum lines. also you will have to use some of your old parts for the throttle cabel assembly. but all in all its not a very hard job. as far as tools go you would need a motor lift and some basic tools. and if you have access to a lift it wold make the job a lot easer.

I so appreiciate that will i really have to remove the wiring harness stuff and ecu to take it out for a swap? Someone told me whenever you do a swap you have to replace everything but what about if i'm still going to use the same engine. I mean same type 7mgte

You can change out the harness between engines based on a few restrictions, but the short answer is that the engine harness is coming out with the engine.
