so i took my head and turbo to a machine shop in my local area. I had a few people tell me they they were great and that they did a good job. so fare my experience is that not so good. i drop my head and turbo off at on a Thursday they tell me they will call me on Monday and give me a quote. So on Tuesday i call them the guy tells me he had to take Friday and Monday off. i was a little worried but i think ok no problem stuff happens maybe he had a emergency or something. He tells me he will call me on Thursday (a week from when i dropped it off). So on Friday he calls me and gives me the quote. The quote is 900+ish for the head and 950ish for the turbo. At this point I'm thinking OMFG this guy is crazy almost 1800 for the head and the turbo to be redone. but at the same time this guy is supost to be great. So what do i do?
I'm a tad drunk when writing this but please what do you all think?

Did you drop off your car or did you drop off the head and turbo? What do you mean redone? What exactly are you doing to your turbo? If you ask me you would be better off buying an upgraded CT26 turbo. If your turbo is bad then I would not consider having it fixed. I do know a website that trades out the old turbo and gives you an upgraded one. Its much better and can boost higher. I'm going to do the same eventually when I get back to the states.

Yikes, find a new machine shop, the TOTAL for my head, being 100% rebuilt with new viton valve seals, 1mm oversized valves, completely cleaned, and welded in 4 spots (previous owner neglected the car) was only $700, and that was with a LOT of work!
