If your looking for a simple fix then go to Home Depot and get a tube of clear 100% silicone and neatly (being very carefull not get on the paint)run a small bead across the problem area.

I'm in Hilton, which is north west of Rochester NY, I have a 1986.5, and a 1987, both n/a, and both 5 speeds, where abouts are you? What is your background, you are one of the most knowledgeable person on Supras that I've seen on the net.
