I just recently did the head gasket.... i had to bring it to a machine shop so i had to take mostly everyting off of it. On the passenger side o had to take of the gear that connects to the exhaust cam? Looks to me like a distubutor basically but i got coils... How do i time this gear because it sounds like my car is not firing the right order... plugs in correct order.. timing is on point..

I'll assume that you're turbo, and that you're talking about the CPS (cam position sensor). If so, here's your answer:
