ok so i use jump cables to try to start the car, but everything else except the engine works....the windows, seats, a/c, radio, lights, blinkers, everything works. but when i go to turn the car on the volt gage drops below 12 (this is still hooked up with the jumper cables) but nothing happens. doesnt even try to turn over.

what should i check? fuses in the kick panel? or could this be bcuz the engine is just dead or what? im so confused and sad.

im thinkin thats a possiblity. when i go to turn the key it doesnt do anything except click once when i take the key off the "start". that and the fact that the volt gage drops from 12 to in between 6 and 12 when i try to start it.

would it kill anyone to put some input into this matter? it is a forum and im in need of some help.....ya the mental help is apart of the help i need. lol

If the engine makes a clicking sound when you try to start the car. This might be that your starter is seized(stuck). This happened to me, what i did was; I gave the starter a couple of hits with a metal tool while someone turn the key to start the engine. Try this it might just help. If it works replace your starter, well this is going to happen more often. If this is check all your fuses.

I'm also having the same problem. I haven't had a chance to try anything yet, but on another forum someone talked about the starter trigger wire losing conductivity over the years. His solution was to make a relay, being switched by the starter trigger wire, that would give the proper amount of battery power to the starter.
Here's the link starter relay.
I haven't done this yet (no time), so I can't be 100% sure. However, tomorrow I will most likely try it. Just be sure that it isn't anything else, though.
