My car has been dead for over years and finally had the chance to put coolant in and oil into the car. when i crank on the car it runs fine but as i look under the car near the transmission it is leaking out coolant. Need help ASAP. Also as i cut off the car i can still hear the turbo spinning air, is this normal? Any help would be appreciated

I just found out that the coolant was leaking from the back of the head. The heater spot. This is causing the coolant to leak out. If you have any advice it would be appreciated. Thanks

BHG? Could be also a bad heater core, but I'm pretty sure its a bad head gasket, how many miles are on her?

Just rebuild the whole motor with an oem Toyota rebuilding kit. Also, added on some arp head studs. I pretty sure it has a bad heater core. Could replace the heater core or do I have to buy another head?

run your car with your defroster on see if your windows fog up or if you smell antyfreeze in your car and also check your heater hose on the back of your motor under your coil cover or like supra88 seid it could be your head gasket

The windows fogging up is a good indicator of a bad heater core, also if you see like steam like smoke coming out of one of your vents plus that sweet smell then you have one for sure. Just watch for it in the morning thats the best time, plus after the fog qoes away it leaves a film on the front window. If its not then I would say BHG. Look around for the discussions on BHG, I would be wasting my time just telling you when its been discussed so many times here.

I have yet to read anything in this thread that makes me believe that he has a BHG... Why do you guys jump to that conclusion so quickly? There's literally NO evidence of a BHG, simply that he has a coolant leak. No more, no less...

87sup- replace the hoses that are leaking, pressure test the cooling system, or get a local garage to do it for you, don't run the car low on coolant, and if you for some reason think that you have a BHG, have a garage do a leakdown test for you. That will let you know for sure. (or buy the kit and do it yourself)

yea willing to say its a 90 degree heater hose near the back of the head. You have 2 back there replace both of them. The 90 degree and the one to the heater core.
