Just got the CT26 rebuild for my friends Supra, installed the stock oil pressure/return line with new gaskets, because the kid previously had SS lines for a T4 that blew up.

He didnt have the stock coolant lines for the stock turbo anymore so we did bother to get them because plenty of people have said that it does not matter and you do not have to run the coolant lines. For some reason there is smoke coming from the coolant port in the turbo, and when you rev the engine up, blackish smoke seems to come out the port, does this mean something horrible, or does the port just need to be simply blocked off.

The car was just started up with the turbo one time so far so i am hoping it was some smoke that just has to burn off from whatever was left sitting inside the coolant passage of the turbo, but i have no idea now

i could understand steam coming from in the coolant passage if there was some left over. it would boil, thus, steam.

if you're revving the motor and black smoke comes from the coolant port, you have other problems. (that's not normal in any way, shape, or form.)

I'm have the same problem when i first started my car. i was hoping that the smoke would burn off and it did but as i open the radiator cap all the coolant bursted out. I fill up the coolant again then it now starts to leak out near the transmission area. Did i do something wrong?

87- you probably just have a blown coolant hose. Replace it with a new piece, purge the air from the system, and don't let the car overheat. I hate when people just assume that you have a BHG.

I've seen people tear the heads off their motors because everyone said they had a BHG, and it turned out to be a $10 coolant hose that made the car overheat, lose coolant, etc...
