I was just on a nice sat. drive in my 1987 N/A automatic (only mods are cat-back and K&N intake) when my good friend pulls up at sonic beside me in a 2004 Tiburon GT. It was his g/f new car and he asked me if i wanted to run them i was like sure so we went out to a long straight strech and lined them up. So we take off and i start to pull on him in first but when i hit second, it started to get ugly....he started to leave me and ended up about 2 1/2 car lengths when we crossed the bridge(finish line). Thos damn Tiburons!

don't worry about those tiburons... I seen way too many of those on the track and I know what they're capable of and I'm not impressed. You'll get 'em next time.

Yup...you win some you lose some.....the new Tiburons' with the 180hp V6 aren't that slow...they are pretty competitive...plus the curb weight as far as I know is just a hair over 3,000 lbs.

Better luck next run!

CHRIS

I have a 87 N/A with some Custom CAI, ported IM and TB, OBX header and exhaust and intake port matched. Also its a drift car so all thats left in the interior is the cockpit (dash, center console, 2 bride buckets. I killed a tiburon at a set of lights I didn't see if it was a "GTS" model but he had not much luck!

My lug nutz require more tourqe than your Honda will ever make!

I run a 1990 Supra Turbo Auto with HKS DP, HKS 3incat, Blitz NUR Spec cat back, K&N FIPK, HKS Manula Boost controller set to 10 PSI, Custom Hardpipe, HKS SSQV BOV, and a Venom 400 Module. I understand your frustration at losing to a Tiburon nobody likes to lose, If it makes ya feel better when I was in highschool before I got my baby I had my dads old 96 Chevy Blazer with the 4.6 Litre Vortech V6 and 4wd, not a supra but at least it was all weather and black. Anyways I raced a 1/4 with a Tiburon GTV6 6 speed it was stock all my blazer had was a k&n intake, that lil blazer smoked that tiburon which I found to be very sad, losing to a almost bone stock auto suv when ya got a 6 speed sporty compact is sad so don't feel bad brother if ur mk3 was turbo you would have handed him his azz at 5 psi bone stock so enjoy knowing a blazer can eat ur friends puzzy gf car.

aw come on now. tibs arent bad. i drive an 04 gt, 6 speed. its an 11 second car. I face off my buddy in his supra often. he has a tiwns and i have a supercharger, (and a much longer list of mods starting from a full race block.) but you still have to love supra's.

Yeh, i'll vouge for those supercharged tiburons. My Buddy has a '91 si (yuck, civic, i know) that's 344hp at the crank. He goes up against a super tiburon at least once a month at new england dragway and can never seem to catch up. Thats saying alot cuz that piece of shit civic runs 11.6's all day long.
And on another note i used to have a video of a super tiburon racing a Viper. As you can guess it didn't even touch the viper but the fact that it kept up at around 130 on the highway is pretty amazing!
