Ok, so, Dave and I decided to go racing the other night to see if the Supra was up to the challenge of being a sports car. Simply put, it was; and it didn't give any ideas otherwise.
We did 2 passes, RX-7 vs Supra. On the first pass we drove our respective cars, I had the suicide lane. In 1st and 2nd I was pulling away from the Mazda, but the supra's real power showed in 3rd gear. After that, it's all over. After that first run we decided to switch cars and make our 2nd pass.
Right from the start, I saw just how much the supra pulled away in 1st and 2nd and completely dominated in 3rd. As if that wasn't enough racing for one night, we drove back to the house and Dave switched the Mazda for the '99 Monte Carlo, and we made another pass.
I'm not sure how fast the Supra was, all I remember was winning against the "Original Gangster", the Monte.
I think it's awesome to have friends like Dave, who can take racing as seriously, yet gentlemanly, as I do. We gave the races our all and shook hands after each race.
