2 questions.
#1. On my 1987 NA, there is a short hose at the lower rear of the engine block on the passenger side near the firewall that is capped off with a giant bolt and a hose clamp. Directly near it protruding from the firewall is a metal tube that looks like this hose should be connected to. I have seen several pics online of other NA's and all of them look just like mine. What is this hose for? #2. Where do I get a green KS connector so that I can do the knock sensor bypass? |

1) it is to feed the heater core on the JDM model supras. since they're right hand drive, the heater core is set up differently than ours. all USDM cars came with that capped off.
2) you're a little off here. you don't bypass the knock sensor, you re-wire it so it functions properly. go to your local toyota dealership and ask for one (1) of these: P/N- 82219-89103 then cut the wire and make up your new one. (you need the green end) follow these directions: http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=69 -shaeff |

I did the knock sensor rewire. The entire job went flawlessly.
The check engine light is no longer on. On a side note... I don't see any change in performance at all. The car still feels exactly the same except that now the check engine light isn't on. My son did say it sounds different though. I can't tell. Thanks for the help. It was a simple job. |
