130-135 is about all you will get out of it. It is gear limited to just over 140. It has been a while, but 6800 rpm was 142. A 6200 redline wont go that high obviously.

I got my 87 NA up 127 mph (estimated, the speedo read 135). This was with one passenger and the trunk and back seat filled with luggage and it felt like it could keep going. Obviously gearing will limit top speed. I wish I had taken note of what RPM I was at when I hit that speed. Oh well.

My top speed was around 130 on I-95. I had to stop early when I flew by a cop car. Also he didn't catch me. HAHA

Umm, keep your filthy lies in the Honduh forums. The car has a rev limiter at 6800 rpm. And yes, the 90-92 has a 6250 redline. The 86.5-89, and some 90's has a 6500 redline. Redline and rev limiter are not the same.

Dont bring make believe when so many know the car too well. What next? You have a stand alone and just forgot to tell us? Roll Eyes

Its ok. A car designed in 1985 for release in 1986 and hitting 130 n/a is ok with me. Smile

definitely a good number. I used to have a Lexus is300 that topped out at 130 so an 85 N/A is wayyy ahead of its time.

I used to do 125 with the n/a and now I can't even do pass 120 with my 1J (lol). I have two types of SCD and for some reason I have not install one yet. Maybe I've chosen life rather then top speed......Naaaah...I feel the need for speed.. At the track though (safety).

I think Im a little late on this since the last message was in november (Now its December) BUT

I for one have taken my NA Supra to 140, I was racing a supercharged Focus. Miracolusly won but I was at 6K RPM...After 140 at that For about a minute or 2 I started to smell some clutch. My Clutch is new so I know its not going I havent changed it yet and it drives great.

Im guessing my clutch cant hold more stress than that.

One time racing a NA 3000GT on the highway from a stop My friend in the passenger seat claims he saw my needle hit the bottom (he said passed 140) or 150, this was as well at 6,000 RPM 500 rpm less than redline which i was dissapointed

This time i didnt smell clutch I smelld antifreeze...Not a headgasket though (That when when racing a 240SX on a main road). Well my heater core was going and thats what made me slow down and still beat the 3000GT....

Good stories you all I read them all :-D

if you own an mkiii, that's untrue. there are a few piggyback computers that eliminate the rev limit, or you could get the clock speed changed in the ECU. not sure about mkiv's.

I know in the USDM MKIV's you remove the top speed limiter(about 145?) by taking out the Traction Control fuse. I've gotten my 89 Turbo up to about 145 to lose some neon and vw golf who tried screwing with me on the highway, then realized I didnt trust the tires I had at the time, and my alignment. But did not hit speed limiter, makes me feel I could do 150+ with the right precautions
