I got my motor rebuilt(with piston) and just got it running with out the egr, will that couse the car to have a ruff start and its also running rich.

the car is also running code 71(erg system)

No, the removal of the EGR will not effect start ups or even performance through 95% of the power band.

On the code 71, you're on your own. Here's a hint: resistor.
