Ok, First I have to say that I'm an idiot for what I did.

So I was browsing around on the forums today and I noticed on some pictures posted here that the 2 vacuum lines going to the BVSV where the coolant temp sensor is, and its positioned differently than mine. I had mine backwards so I go to change them around and I break one of the connection for the tubing 20 miles away from home! I ended up making a quick fix for it and drove it home.

Now my question is, (1) Will that cause any problems to my car? (2) Does anyone have one laying around that I can buy? (3) Can I just bypass the hoses straight to the charcoal canister?

Here's a photo of the quick fix. I hope this will be fine for the moment.

That fix is fine as long as the valve inside wasn't damaged. It's a very simple mechanism as far as how it operates. You can test it readily enough by making sure you can't blow air through the CC canister's connector and out the other side of the BVSV.

You could run the BVSV straight to the intake, but you really don't want vacuum on the CC all the time.

Personally, I'd replace it... even if it means buying one used. Check the For Sale sections on all the Supra sites (including here), I seem to recall a couple people parting out engines and whole cars recently.

Oh, and don't feel bad. It's old, plastic and on the hot side of the engine... these are very often far more brittle than they should be.

Thanks CRE. That info makes me feel a little better. Hopefully I can get my hands on another one. BTW what the heck does the BVSV do anyways? I tried looking it up but I couldn't get a clear answer. All I found out was that its a vacuum valve or something.

i want to say that when the coolant gets a certain temprature the valve opens and allows vacuum to the CC.

True, but it also works in conjunction with a pressure valve in the charcoal canister. The system doesn't vent into the intake until a few requirements are met.
