Hey i was looking at the horsepower freaks for a set of electric fans. Why is it that one kit is almost 2 hundred less and looks like the same as what they say is the MK3 kit? Has anyone bout from them before. Its like they have a universal kit then another just for the Mk3 but it looks the same just costs more?

Because of the fact that its universal vs. application specific.

Universal = Easy to produce, more potential in the marketplace.

App. Specific = Production is limited, and only accounts for a certain percentage of the marketplace (and a small one at that for our cars).

Essentially, when something is made JUST for your car, the price is gonna get jacked up versus a part that EVERYONE buys.

So say for the fans would it be smart to save up for the direct fit or could i just get the universal kit to fit?

I would go with the universal kit if you're really good with electrical matters. If you're looking for more of the "plug and play" type kits then you would want the direct fit.

Hey my cousin is stationed in gulf port I think. But i heard your stock fan robs power from the engine and you can gain a few horsepower removing that monster?

That few horsepower isn't worth losing your motor over, especially as hot as 7M's like to run.

And shaeff you are 100% right about the heat these engines produce. I mean my old edelbrock 350 in my camaro didn't feel this hot when i opened the hood. There must be other ways of cooling?

A custom fan shroud, Tundra fan, and a good healthy cooling system, with a Fluidyne or PWR radiator will do the trick.

The turbo is to blame for all that extra heat. Using a turbo blanket, and/or ceramic coating will minimize the heat in the bay. It works very, very well.
