It's best to hook the map sensor directly to the manifold. The better the reading, well, the better.
Here's a great maftpro install thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11783&highlight=maft+pro |

Go to Radioshack, or any other computer/ electronics store and get an adapter.

Uhhh, if the laptop's port has a male connector it's more than likely got three rows of pin too... in which case it's a monitor port, not a serial port.

Heres where I come in..the computer dork that I am. I may be new to turbo cars but I'm really good with computers. So your saying you have to establish the link with your laptop through a monitor connection? sounds odd to me, however thats the only connection I see on my laptop as well. The other connectors are USB or Ethernet. You can get a female double sided adaptor, they do make them, just like male/female adaptor, or Rather a cable with female ends on both sides. I'm pretty sure they make them. You would think that maftpro would supply the connection for this though instead of causing a headache for the installer? I just think thats odd to use a monitor connection, since its dedicated to video feed.

Yes, I know. I have a laptop with a serial port specifically for my MaftPro. LOL.
That being said, he needs to buy the serial->USB converter, and he'll be good to go. |

ROFL!!! i just saw this.... DAMN! Using the monitor port for data was not at all what I was trying to imply... as a self proclaimed "computer dork" you MUST have come across people who confuse the old video ports for serial ports... sheesh. LOL...
People look at their computers and just assume it always has the connection they need... they ALWAYS do it. If it doesn't fit, then one of the products is broke... that's what they generally assume. _____________________________________________ Young enough to know everything, old enough to be wrong about all of it.
