Hey guys, this is my first time using a code reader and it said something about error code 42, VSS. When i looked it up in the shop manual is says something about being the Vehical Speed Sensor, but I dont' really know what to do next. Oh, on other syptom is that my cruise control only works intermitently. Any ideas what I should try next guys? btw, i'm working on a 1995 NA Supra

You have a bad wheel bearing. The speed sensor is part of the bearing / near it. The sensor cannot read correctly cause the bearing is bad which attached to the wheel which is more than likely to wobble. For to the cruise to work it needs those sensors to tell the computer to speed the car up or down. The bearings are known to go at 100k on them. Easy way to check is to jack up each tire put one hand on top of the tire and one on the bottom then you wiggle up and down and if you can feel the whole wheel move up and down the bearing is bad and will need replaced. As far as doing them by your self the bearings are pressed in so you need to remove the knuckle and have to old one pressed out and new one pressed in. However if you check all your wheels and you don't feel any play then you have a bad speed sensor. They are located in in the knuckle one bolt holds them in. They are the easy to replace. but is more than likely a bearing. Try that out let me know if you have any problems.
