ok I just bought my 2nd supra TT 6spd with 175,00 miles on it. I want to know is the block still good for an upgraded turbo or should I rebuild the block cause of the High miles that are on it? I have to replace valve seals also I am smokn when I start and step on the gas at stop lights. My car also stuters when I full throttle it and my exhaust light comes on. I think my 2nd turbo is dying but not sure. Can anyone help me? Thanks a bunch

um you might as well you dont really need to but since you have to replace somethings it might be good to do that but run by your local motosports or a good trusted place and ask their advice

Check compression and make sure they are within Toyota recommended specs. Do a leak down test as well. If the compression numbers are with in Toyota specs you're good to go. If not a rebuild is in order.

i have 175k miles as well and the car runs fine but i would be very hesitant to put any aftermarket turbos on. a compression and leakdown are a good place to start but they dont tell you quite enough.

well everyone is telling me different things from the block is unbreakable to rebuilding the whole block. what should I do? also why does my car not build as much when 2nd turbo hits? It feels like it struggles to boost at full throttle and starts to shake a bit. I know I can get rid of my MAF, but what do I need to bypass it to make it work without a MAF? HELP PLEASE thanks everyone :P

listen to mani and supras_own_you they know what they are talking about doing the leak down and compression ratio test could save you a lot of money

put the car in TTC and see if you still have the problem boosting. if it goes away then your seq system is whack somewhere. you can also get it scanned for trouble codes.

and if you do have trouble codes you can always reset the ecu
