Hi everyone. New to the forums. I am a current own of a 95 2jzge and 83 5mge. I am looking for info on the 2jzge engines. The plan of course with all supra owners is to turbo them, which is what i plan on doing. However, all i read about is people who pull the 2jzge engine and swap to the 2jzgte engine block. I know those blocks are built with the lower compression ratio for boost. The question came up would there much of a difference if you bored a 2jzge and a 2jzgte block. Like if I bored my 2jzge engine block to a 3.4L. Idk if has been done before but I would like to find out. another thing is the head of the 2jz. I read that some people use their stock 2jzge heads and they work fine. Some people go to the 1jzgte head. Which is best? The 1jzgte lowers the compression compared to a 2jz head. Either way i am going to have them shaved and install bigger valves. If anyone can help with the best head for the engine would be great. The plan was to turbo the 2jzge engine. However depending if anyone can give me helpful info, I might just buy a 2jzgte engine and build it and find a car to put it in. Maybe another MKIV that someone has beat to crap. Not really sure if I want to mess up my stock one that have right now, since stock is hard to come by anymore these days. Well if anyone can help it would great.
