hey everyone my names chris im 18 and i have an 87 supra with a newly installed j-spec 2jz ive done away with the twin turbo and installed a master power ar .70 turbo a walbro fuel pump a greddy bcc and front mount intercooler with full custom ic pipes now first off i have been in the supra game for about 4 years now ive done about everything there is on an mk3 so anyways my question is on full throttle the car stutters and sputters and doesnt boost but if i feather the throttle a little bit i can take it all the way up threw the gear but not boosting ive done just about evertything i can think of i dont have a boost leak i have spark i have fuel and i would love to fix this problem so i can smoke my neighbors evo9 does anybody in the fine supra community wanna help a fellow supra brother out


p.s. i live in davie FL if anybody is in the area or close too wanna help out im more than willing to meet up thanks later

i'm having the same problem with my 1jz...if you find out, please let me know....my tech is racking his brain to fix this thing!!! i got spark, i got fuel...until...i gas it and it's like it cuts out....bucks and sputters....
if i barely press on the gas, it will half-way spool and slowly get up to speed, but under load it dies out!!! my tech said i have a low vacuum pressure (15 instead of 17) so maybe it's in that somewhere...but where??
got any ideas, it would help!!

the symptoms both of you are describing don't sound like an ECU crapping out to me... Usually when the ECU craps out you get more serious issues, like the car won't run at all, and you get what we call 'Code 0'.

The first two things I'd check for, are a sticking wastegate or improperly adjusted wastegate. Then check your plugs and make sure they are gapped at .28 because if your gap is larger, what will happen is the boost blows out your spark. These are two common reasons for boosted engine cutting out under load/boost.

It also happened to my 1JZ swap when I first got it on the road, and it was my wastegates actuators sticking. Most of our JDM swaps, sit around for quite awhile awaiting their new homes before they land in our cars, and if you are using the stock wastegate, they can freeze up and not work properly because they haven't been used in a long time.
