hi,
i'll just say sorry if a similar topic like this has been posted before in advanced because i'm sure this has been a topic that has been often talked about. i've just recently purchased a '97 6-speed supra and am really eager in getting a new set of wheels for it as the standard wheels don't really float my boat. i'm leaning towards a set of 19-inch wheels for it and just want to know what's the widest set of wheels would the supra handle without scrubbing against the gaurds? i don't want to use spacers or camber the wheels too much to fit these 19's under it. thanks in advanced. |

It sounds like your more interested in the largest diameter than the widest wheel. With no modifications a 19" wheel will fit fine if the offsets and widths are correct. The widest wheel is a 9.5" front and 10.5" rear. A 10" front and 11" rear will fit with minor modifications.

Steve, I'm about to purchase some CCW wheels 18x10's (can u help me w/ the offset) up front and 17x11.5 (51mm offset)in the rear. I have my fenders rolled and will be running them on Ground Control Coilovers. This will be my street setup w/ 265/35/18's up front or 285's and 315/35/17's in the rear. What other modifications will I have to do to so everything will fit.
TIA |

Clark94,
You will need a +47mm offset in the front. This will allow you to run a 285/30R18 if you bend the tab at the top of the fender lip that hold a bolt. CCW has done lots of large wheel sizes for Supra's and should be able to get you what you need. Later, Steve |

Clark94-
I actually went with your exact set up not too long ago - even have the Ground Control Coil Overs (I went with the Advance Design versions). I have some advice on things to look out for if you're doing the AD's as there are a couple of things GC may not tell you. Also, shortly after I got these, I swapped out my rear tires to Victoracers. As a result, I've got a barely used set of 315/35/17 Yokohama A032Rs sitting in my basement looking for a new home. I also have a set of springs that I used for one track event before I went even higher spring rates. They are 800 lbs front, and 550 lbs rear. If you are interested in these, let me know. I'm also in Atlanta. Shoot me an email at Fridayr@bellsouth.net and we can talk. You are going to love the setup!! Ron |
