I am trying to decide what tires to buy for my mkii for autocrossing. I have been thinking about the Kumho Ecsta V700 or the Hoosiers. Whaqt are you people running or what have you run for tires in the past? Also are the BF Goodrich Comp T/A any good for auto crossing?

From what I have heard the Comp T/A's are good but have yet to see them in use.

The V700 is probably your best bet as far as cost goes. There are a lot of people in our chapter using those, which is why I can't win in stock class (cause I have the Ecsta 712's). Once I get a little more money I'm going to buy a set of cheap wheels and throw either the V700s or the Victoracers on.

Take a look at the Reviews at tirerack.com on all your tire desires and see if they really stand up or folks brag about them cause thats all they could afford. I went with Goodyear Eagle F1's after doing extensive reading there and I couldnt be happier, ya they were more money BUT you get what you pay for and as far as Im concerend the best tires in the world have Goodyear written all over them
