I have tried countless times to brke the traction out of my rear tires and it will never break loose. I tried in wet parking lots and got nothing. I tried in on dry road and still all I got was traction. What I did wat rev the engine to 4K RPM and drop the clutch while floring it and all I got was a quick chirp and a mean take off. I hit my head so hard on the seat rest that it started to hurt. What do you guys do to loose traction. Its like if my car would be the best race car because I cant loose traction even when its wet. Also my car is a Non turbo and I have an r154 transmissin with the matching LSD. Thanks for your help.

I recommend buying the "Drift Bible" by Keiichi Tsuchiya 'Drift King'. its 20 bucks at Borders. Not really a full blown instructional video, but it gives you a basic rundown.

Drift Bible! it worked for me very good. Its kinda confusing at first when you watch it but after repeated watch and going out and doing it on the road... it work out just fine... for novice I would recomend a wide clear road.

HOW TO DRIFT.......

try the basics when ur cornering try hitin the gas a lil harder and if the car starts sliding then u steer in that direction with ur foot on the gas if you start loosing it let go off the gas and steer harder in the direction that ur sliding in..

how not to drift is on the streets migth cost u a few suspention parts.

With a supra on a wet street, you should have NO problem spinning you tires, when you are going around corners it makes it easier. just practice. thats all

holy old thread batman...

i have no problem breaking traction.(then again, i'm turbo, w58, 4.3 and about 245rwhp) if you're an N/A with r154 and turbo diff, you might have trouble, as the N/A is supposed to have a 4.3 rear.

go to a wet parkinglot and you should have no problems.

I know its not actually drifting, but pulling the e-brake in a FF car on a wet road as you go around a turn definitely gets you sliding sideways.

i wana no what tires u have. in my supra i cant get traction at all in the rain. the are a couple of ways to start a drift.
1 is the e-brake -very hard to get the timing when to let of and use the gas

2 is power over - easy thats where i started just punch the gas when your turning hard

3 is clutch kick - like wht you tried doing

4 is shift lock -my friend tries this in his 240 but i dont wana even try its pretty much a the last sec b4 a tun you downshift hard then feather it.

ass dragging is really fun though

What do you mean you feather it?? you downshift hard for the reason of locking up your rear tires so you break traction which helps the rear end kick out so you can slide around the corner and then you gas it after the initial slide to keep the traction broken.

I am using the stock tires and they work better than my sport tires. I got a set of nitto 555Rs and they don't hold as good traction. I don't know why. The Nitto's suck in the rain. I had 275-45-18s and the car was fish tailing like crazy. I can drift with the nittos even on dry but can't with the Kuhmos. That funny to me. I go a set of Potenzas and They hold up better then the Nittos but I can still drift in them. Now my Stock tires are worn out and I need new ones. I can see the metal on them. I usually don't let my tires get that bad but I have bad camber and it wears them out in about 3 to 4 weeks.

I know how to drift a car. I did it many time. I just had a hard time with those tires. When I switched my tires It drifted really well. I don't drift on the street with cars. I live in Florida and idiots here can drive for Sh*t. They have even found every possible stupid way to crash cars over here. If I was a car manufacturer I would release 200 cars in Florida 3 month before I start production and use this state for crash testing. Its just rediculous out here. That why we are #5 worst states for the number of accidents. Jersey is number 1. Damb I feel I would hate to live there.

I would say dont go drifting in your supra and get a practice car you dont need alot of power to go sideways.

its pritty easy to loose traction on any car.... just tap the break (this way all the weight is in the front end of the car) turn hard... this should get the tail of the car whipping out... and steer your way.

just a guy trying to make it in life
