IMHO there is absolutely no reason to swap a 2jz-ge into your mk3. The 7m-ge can make almost the same power with a lot less work. And while the 2jz-gte engine has the "bling" factor, you don't need its capabilities to drift. You can do it with some mods to your 7mge, or if you want more power a 7m-gte swap is a lot less expensive and that engine can make more power than you'll need

Buildin a 2JZ all-motor is near-pointless, the motor is really meant for a turbo. A small single on a 2JZ can spool extremely quick with little lag...that sounds like the best route to go. Or just stick with stock twins.

the problem I had with my 87 is that the 2jz wouldnt fit with the twins and I had to upgrade to the single. but keeping the motor reliable enough to do the drifts for even a serious lap or two with out over heating was the biggest problem that I had. I even had a fluidine radator and gready front mount inter cooler. So I went back to the 7m-gte. But all motor is a good way to go it will suffer in the straits but will catch up in the corners. do to the fact that a n/a motor can continuly push. Where a turbo motor you have to slow down before the corner. But drifting is all about what the drivers preferance is there is no right or wrong way. how ever if you deside to go with the 7m-gte I recomend that you call Sound performance. They have quite a few turbos and even kits that would suit this driving style. I have there smallest kit and I am pushing 475rwhp of 18psi. ontop of that it spools really quick I have gone up against mkIII's with gready and hk$ turbos and mine so far is the quickest the hit 18 psi. even if they are boosting higher than me

The 2JZ-GTE would be a better choice....but theres gonna be too much money spent into the fabrication process and you have to buy a single turbo conversion. IMO, you should find a 1JZ-GTTE and do that swap or just trade some one your current 7M-GE, give them about $200, and get thier 7M-GTE. spend the same amount of money into that engine as you would doing the fabrication and such with the 2JZ swap, and you'll probably have a 550-620HP MKIII.
