What up guys, my 94 6sp tt supra is stock now just got the intercooler., There has been a noise like a rattle or it sounds like something loose in the tranny area it's been like this for a while. When am at sittin still you could hear it when i push the clutch in you cant here the noise ,but when you start to go in 1st you can here this noise like it's something loose sometimes you can here the noise and sometimes you can't in 1st or second in low rpms, now my car has stock clutch and i don't have any mods like downpipe or exhuast, ..so i don't know if its something even all supras have , since my car is so quiet you could here everything, i drove a another supra with 50k more miles than mine and it kinda had this noise as well..thank you for reading any help would be great! mike

p.s. this noise is not the clunking in the mighty getrag i have that too lol

i know the getrag is known to rattle but i think it is usually due to input shaft bearings not really sure though.

Yea the getrag is very noisy. I love it it's a race transmission. People driving with me in the car cant beleive it's a normal sound. Can you think of any other car like this?!

He says that the noise goes away when the clutch is pressed. That sounds like a bad throw out bearing. That's a possibility, or another one is a loose bolt (which is not likely). But you never know.

I had a fw bolt that came loose on me Frown It damaged the fw and caused bad wear on the clutch. I had to get both new components.

Dont worry about the noise, its the getrag trannys. The Getrag is also in some high end Porsches; I test drove a 911 turbo and same thing so dont worry, it happens in $100,000 cars as well. =)

I thought the same thing, not untill my 2nd gear started popping out into neutral. Now I need to bebuild the trans. Its demoralizing, I dont see how its normal without an aftermarket flywheel.
