9th Annual Canadian Supra Appreciation Weekend - Toronto Meet 2004
Here it is folks, mark it in your calendars, the one full meet for the North East this year. We all lament the loss of The Meet in Englishtown, NJ, but Toronto is here to stay. Running from mid day Friday August 20 to Sunday August 22, 2004, this is Canada's largest Supra meet, and the longest running of all the organized SOGI meets. Plan to come up and spend a weekend with us for food (our favourite topic), fun, racing, Supras and sun. We anticipate attendance could set records this year, with between 80 and 100 cars in attendance. Tentative plans at this stage start Friday afternoon in Niagara Falls, with a 'spirited' couple hour drive drive through some of the nicest, twistiest, and hilliest roads in Southern Ontario along the Niagara escarpment to the relaxing little town of Cayuga...for some Friday night drag racing at Toronto Motorsports Park. Saturday, we are working to get to Legandary Motorcars in Milton Ontario. For followers of the Speed Channel, this is the actual location of Dream Car Garage. Plan for some grilling, some unbelievable classic cars to drool on, meetings and discussions with some of our local sponsors and tuners on performance upgrades and Supra care, and an overall Supra love-in. Charity raffles and prizes abound, many donated by our local and international sponsors. Saturday dinner, a favourite of many, is followed by a cruise through the streets of Toronto, and a late evening run to the industrial outskirts north of the city (aka a shock and awe campaign on the fast and furious crowd...). Sunday is planned to head to Bronte Creek conservation area near Hamilton for a relaxing get together around the grill, and serves as the final wind down to a crazy weekend. Beautiful riverside photo opportunities abound, as does swimming and eating (I sense a food theme here). Of course, having this many Supras in one great location makes it all worth while. Being near Hamilton provides our American friends a more convenient jumping off point this year, being nearly an hour closer to the border locations in Niagara and Windsor. Plan to attend, and keep your eyes peeled for more updates on events, locations, times and the sign up list. Hope to See you here!
